This book is testimony to how much there is to be learned about life 'in' the world from the Carthusians' standpoint 'outside' it. While the Carthusian call to find God always and everywhere is essentially the same vocation as that of all Christians, there is an intensity about the monastic life which distils the message and makes it more fiery, more compelling. The discussion of nuclear power (or fission energy) is excellent and very detailed.The price of the book is unfortunate. I contacted Amazon and they helped me fix this as the book is a really good read. Explains lessons in great detail and visual aids. In keeping with Moore's studied and precise style, these are very absorbing pieces, not least for their author's disarming (not to say alarming) penchant for autobiography. So when I read Eric Berg's book, I could not put it down!! He explained every one of those symptoms - why they happen, and what you can do about it! I was so excited! Finally! Someone understands!! So I'm not going crazy! It was almost like he knew me!The book is very clearly written and very easy to follow. I was the most impressed by the way the author really stood by his word with the tittle of the book i.e. Profits and good care mutually exclusive (p.87).
